REGULATIONS:
1. ITEMS MUST BE NO MORE THAN 2 YEARS OLD AND MUST NOT BE USED OR WORN PRIOR TO THE SHOW.
2. ALL ENTRIES ARE SUBJECT TO THE BY-LAW REGULATIONS OF THE SOCIETY.
3. PLEASE READ YOUR SCHEDULE CAREFULLY TO AVOID WORK BEING ENTERED IN THE WRONG SECTION.
4. Delivery and collection of exhibits:
Delivery: Exhibits to be delivered to the Showgrounds on Tuesday, 22nd October between 8am and 11am. Exhibits forwarded by post or rail are to be clearly marked “Needlework Section” on the outside of the parcel. All exhibits received by post or rail will be returned immediately following the Show at the exhibitor’s expense.
Collection: All exhibits will be available for collection on Monday 28th October between 8am and 10.30am only. The Society will not accept any responsibility for exhibits not collected before that time.
NOTE: Entries can only be collected from the Section Steward. Entry forms are required. Items must be marked off before they can be taken.
5. NO LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED.
6. Exhibit cards will be issued which must be attached firmly to the exhibit. Duplicate numbers must be attached to all articles in a collection.
7. Framed entries - fasten ticket firmly on a length of thread to make them easier to staple awards to.
8. All exhibits must be the bona fide work of the exhibitor.
9. No piece of work may be entered in more than one section.
10. Only amateurs are permitted to compete.
11. Entries that have previously won a First Prize at a Bendigo Show are not eligible to compete.
12. Exhibitors are requested to write the title “Mr., Mrs., Miss., or Ms.” alongside their signature on the entry form.
13. If entering in more than one class, please wrap each class separately.
14. PLEASE NOTE: The Society reserves the right to display only such exhibits, as it deems fit and practicable. This includes entries too large for display.
VAS LTD COMPETITIONS STANDARD REGULATIONS
1. Each exhibit entered must be the bona fide work of the exhibitor.
2. Professionals are not eligible, which is defined as someone that works professionally or derivees the greater percentage of their income in that craft, art form or technique.
3. All work is to have been completed in the last twelve (12) months prior to its entry at a local show.
4. The competition follows the three levels of competition: Show Level, Group Level and State Final.
5. An exhibit having won a show will compete at the 2025 Group Final. The winning exhibit at the Group Final will then compete at the 2025 Royal Melbourne Show.
6. An exhibitor having won at Show Level is not eligible to enter the VAS Embroidery or VAS Sewing Competition at any other show until after the Group Final judging.
7. An exhibitor is only eligible to represent one group in the State Final.
8. An exhibit having won at State Final is no longer eligible to compete in the competition.
9. If for any reason a winner is unable to compete at Group or State Final level, then the second placegetter is eligible to compete.
10 If an exhibitor is found to have won more than one group final the exhibitor must forfeit/refund all prizes and will be disqualified from exhibiting for 12 months.
